Use Phrasit at scale
Phrasit's web tools are free for everyone. If you're embedding tools across a library system, a university intranet, or a content platform, here's how to plan for volume. The API tier below is in planning, not live yet.
Current free tier
- Live page tools with no rate limit. Paste, click, copy.
- Embed widgets at /embed/... with no authentication required.
- JSON API endpoints with per-IP rate limits sized for fair use, around 100 requests per minute per IP. See the API reference for request shapes.
- Plausible analytics, cookieless, no consent banner gating in the EU. Nothing follows your readers around.
- All tools are Lighthouse-friendly and AdSense-compliant out of the box.
For libraries and universities
- Drop an iframe on any LibGuide, intranet, or course page. The full embed list lives at /docs/api, including per-style citation embeds such as /embed/citation-generator/apa and /embed/citation-generator/mla.
- No tracking cookies are set by the tools or the embeds.
- Most tools (word counter, character counter, case converter, comparator, reading-level analyzer) work offline after the first load. They run entirely in the reader's browser.
- The citation lookup and grammar check route a single request to our server when the reader clicks the button. Nothing is logged against the institution.

API tier (planned)
Status:not yet open. We're sketching it now and looking for early users to shape the surface. Sign up below if you'd like to be notified.
When it ships, the API tier is planned to include:
- Keyed access with per-key rate limits, instead of the per-IP fair-use ceiling.
- Webhook callbacks for completed background work: grammar passes on long documents, citation lookups against slower sources, batch jobs.
- Priority support over email, with a real human reading the thread.
Planned pricing (indicative, not yet live):
- Free — 100 requests per day, no card required.
- $19/month — 10,000 requests per day, single key.
- Enterprise — custom volume, custom contract, SSO, co-branded subdomain.
Prices and limits are indicative. Nothing is billable yet. We'll confirm the final numbers in writing before turning on payments.
